Mainz short break - joie de vivre one the Rhine

The capital of Rhineland-Palatinate and largest of the seven Romantic Cities boasts a kilometre-long-promenade along the Rhine, a thousand-year-old cathedral and the city's world-famous son, Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable-type printing press. Located in Germany's largest wine growing region and well known for its traditional carnival parade on Shrove Monday, the visitor can't resist the local's hospitality celebrating together with good food and wine.
